Two-vehicle collision off the Bruce Hwy on Chapman Rd E.

A major multi-vehicle crash off the Bruce Highway between Gympie and Maryborough caused major traffic delays as emergency services worked at the scene.

A multi-vehicle crash has been confirmed off the Bruce Hwy on Chapman Rd East, Bauple.

There, a head-on has reportedly occurred between a car and a truck, causing several other cars to collide and traffic delays.

The Gympie Times understands the truck was carrying fruits and vegetables and one car was towing a trailer.

A rescue helicopter was sent to the scene, however a male patient declined to be flown out and was taken by road to Gympie hospital in a stable condition.

As of 3.30pm on Tuesday, traffic remained at a standstill on the highway.
