Three people in hospital after serious Gympie region crashes

Three people have been hospitalised, one of them airlifted, after multiple serious car crashes in the Gympie region on Sunday.

Three people have been hospitalised, one of them airlifted, after multiple serious car crashes in the Gympie region on Sunday.

The Queensland Ambulance Service reported a vehicle and bicycle crash at Rainbow Beach at 9.16am Sunday morning (August 22), followed by a car and motorcycle crash at Imbil at 11.26am.

One patient was taken to the Gympie Hospital in a stable condition following the Rainbow Beach crash, reported on Karoonda Rd.

Paramedics treated another two patients after the vehicle and motorcycle crash on Ray Myers Road and Kandanga Imbil Road at Imbil just over two hours later.

One of the patients was taken from that scene to Gympie Hospital by road, and the other airlifted to Sunshine Coast University Hospital.

Both of those patients were also reported to be in stable conditions, per the QAS.
