The Gympie teenager has pleaded not guilty to raping a woman in June 2020

The Gympie teenager kept his eyes on the ground as he walked to the dock for Wednesday’s arraignment

Riley Colin Carkeet, 19, pleaded not guilty to rape when he front the Gympie District Court on Wednesday.

A Gympie man facing a charge of rape fronted the Gympie District Court on Wednesday and will face trial later this year.

Riley Colin Carkeet, 19, is alleged to have raped a woman just over a year ago, on June 10, 2020.

Crown Prosecutor S J Gallagher said the alleged rape took place on June 10, 2020.

The teen was arraigned before the court, and pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The defendant kept his eyes on the ground as he walked to the dock for the arraignment.

He has been committed to trial and will reappear in the Gympie District Court on Monday, July 12.
