Queensland Ambulance Services have tended yet another quad bike crash following a shocking spate of incidents across the state.

At 11.14am QAS tended to a private property at Bells Bridge, Gympie.

One patient had to be taken to hospital, while another declined ambulance transport.

The patient who attended hospital was taken in a stable condition.

It’s one of several quad bike crashes in recent weeks including two fatal incidents and one that left a Gympie region woman with a significant injury.

“Much-loved” Sunshine Coast Grammar School student Charlotte Bowden lost her life after her 50cc quad bike rolled and trapped her in water.

Earlier this month, a 59-year-old rural Gladstone man died after his quad bike rolled on a Raglan property.

A woman in her 40s suffered a “significant” arm injury and was tended to by critical care paramedics after an ATV rollover on a private property at Kandanga Creek, south of Gympie, last month.

As of September 30, the official count for quad bike deaths in Australia sat at six.

The fatal crashes on the Sunshine Coast and Gladstone region are yet to be added to the official count.

According to the Australian Government, quad bikes are one of the leading causes of death and serious injury on farms.

Most injuries and deaths happen because of rollovers, leading to suffocation, crushing and head injuries.

The risk of a rollover increases if the quad bike is travelling on uneven ground or slopes, travelling at high speed, towing an attachment or carrying a heavy or unstable load.

Incidents can also occur if the rider is inexperienced, carrying passengers, is not physically strong, is using drugs or alcohol and not wearing adequate protective gear such as helmets.

The recent spate of incidents has prompted new laws to help prevent injury and death.
