On the fringes of the Sunshine Coast, and less than two hours from the state’s capital, it was only a matter of time before real estate in the Gympie region went gangbusters.
While still affordable compared to the coast and Brisbane, the region has attracted thousands of new residents seeking to escape the city life, pandemic restrictions and financial hole of trying to buy to the south.
Gympie’s median house price has almost doubled in the past five years, and in the past 12 months there has been no shortage of multimillion-dollar real estate deals.
Out of this ongoing boom has emerged a new red hot suburb - a part of the region that was always going to be a major growth corridor for Gympie - Pie Creek.
More than any other parts of the city or its satellite suburbs, Pie Creek has more homes worth $1 million.
Here are 14 most incredible homes, how much they cost, and the people who own them. For the sake of privacy we have not included street numbers. Property information comes from corelogic, a leading data and property analyst group.
