A prominent Maryborough business which has survived multiple floods is back on the market.
Nestled in the heart of the heritage precinct amid 1800’s-era charm on Wharf St, the city’s stunning Mary River Marina offers a boutique RV park, restaurant, three additional leased shopfronts and two bed and breakfast units.
It also includes 13 buoy moorings, a laundromat and a manager’s residence.
It was initially placed up for sale in 2021 for $2.2 million before the marina was inundated twice in 2022.
This time there is no listed price.
The 2022 floods weren’t the first time in its colourful history that the marina has
gone under, but it’s withstood the Mary River’s might and test of time.
The restaurant space was popular over the years as a premier dining spot, once operated as Muddy Waters cafe (which relocated to the space now occupied by the Portside Cafe and Restaurant) and more recently as 71 Wharf.
The latter’s former owner Sharon Joynson was good humoured over the years about the ever-present threat of waterfront dining taking on a whole new level and posed for photos when the city was on flood watch.
Lloyds Commercial and Residential is handling the sale of the property.
