Speeders busted on Tin Can Bay Rd, Bayside Rd, Inskip Pt and Toolara

Eight drivers from Cooloola Cove and The Palms were pulled over and fined - half of them were women.

Police in the Tin Can Bay Division and Gympie Patrol Group busted multiple drivers over the speed limit in May.

Eight drivers were detected exceeding the speed limit by at least 13km/h but not more than 20km/h, which earned them a $275 fine and the loss of three demerit points each.

At about 9.50am on Monday, May 2, a 39-year-old Cooloola Cove woman was detected travelling at 98km/h in an 80km/h zone on Bayside Road, Tin Can Bay.

At about 10.20am on the same day, a 24-year-old Cooloola Cove woman was detected travelling at 73km/h in an 60km/h zone on Bayside Road, Cooloola Cove.

On this same day at about 11.15am, a 60-year-old Cooloola Cove man was detected travelling at 76km/h in an 60km/h zone on Gympie Road, Tin Can Bay.

At about 5.25pm on Friday, May 6, a 31-year-old woman from The Palms was detected travelling at 120km/h in an 100km/h zone on Tin Can Bay Road, Tin Can Bay.

At about 4.05pm on Monday, May 9, a 39-year-old Bargara woman was detected travelling at 75km/h in an 60km/h zone on Bayside Road, Cooloola Cove.

At about 4.15pm on the same day, a 39-year-old Cooloola Cove man was detected travelling at 75km/h in an 60km/h zone on Bayside Road, Cooloola Cove.

Also on this day at about 4.40pm, a 31-year-old Cooloola Cove man was detected travelling at 116km/h in an 100km/h zone on Tin Can Bay Road, Toolara Forest.

At about 4.40pm on Friday, May 20, a 19-year-old Oxenford man was detected travelling at 100km/h in an 80km/h zone on Inskip Point Road, Inskip Point.

Two drivers were detected exceeding the speed limit by less than 13km/h which incurs a $183 fine and the loss of one demerit point.

Police are urging motorists to remember that speeding is a Fatal Five factor, along with not wearing seat belts, drink or drug driving, fatigue and distraction.

Police have warned they will continue to conduct high visibility patrols of these coastal roads within Tin Can Bay, Cooloola Cove, Toolara Forest, Rainbow Beach and Inskip Point.
