A Curra labourer was convicted of two unlawful carnal knowledge offences when he faced Gympie Magistrate court on Tuesday.
The court heard that Matthew James Robinson, 20, committed the first offence on September 20, 2020.
He committed the second offence the next night with the same child, it heard.
Robinson told the child that they could not have sex again and that the child could not say anything to anyone about what had occurred.
On July 28 2021, Robinson voluntarily attended the Gympie police station and admitted to having intercourse with the child but said he had assumed she was over 16 years of age.
He was then arrested and charged and released on bail to appear in Gympie Magistrate Court, where he pleaded guilty to both charges.
Magistrate Graham Hillan ordered he pay a fine of $1500 for each offence and placed a non-contact order against the victim.
No conviction was recorded.
