A Jones Hill mechanic has avoided actual jail time for dealing meth to his former girlfriend, a drug dealer herself whose arrest brought his own offences to light.
Luke Robert Pekar, 29, faced Gympie District Court on Thursday over the deals which were made once a month between January and April of 2022.
Police prosecutor Katrina Overell said he would supply “small quantities” of the drug to his partner at the time, Imogen Dawn Quinlan.
The deals were found when police seized her mobile phone.
Quinlan had herself been sentenced for supplying drugs, Ms Overell told the court.
Ms Overell said Pekar’s criminal history included drug offences, including a sentence at Noosa Magistrates Court in 2018 for possessing meth.
She told the court it was found in a search of his car, which was bearing false licence plates.
Ms Overell said Pekar did present to the court as someone who had overcome his own addiction to the drug.

The court heard Pekar was now working as a qualified mechanic, and a father-of-two.
Judge Bernard Porter offered Pekar the choice of either a probation order, or a suspended jail term.
The 29-year-old chose the suspended sentence, telling the court the reporting required by a probation order risked interfering with work.
Pekar pleaded guilty to four counts of supplying a dangerous drug.
He was sentenced to two years’ jail, with the sentence wholly suspended for two years.
