A man charged with dangerous driving after a horror crash on the Bruce Hwy has faced a Maryborough court.

A man charged over a serious two-car crash on the Bruce Hwy at Curra earlier this year has had his charge mentioned before court in Maryborough.
Toogoom’s Joel Victor Hormaechea, 39, was charged with one count of dangerous operation of a vehicle causing grievous bodily harm in the wake of the crash.
The crash happened on March 20, 2024, about 10pm.
A 28-year-old man from the Rockhampton region was treated in the intensive care unit at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital after suffering serious injuries after he was trapped in the wreckage of his LandCruiser after the crash.
The matter was adjourned until August 5, 2024.
He has not entered a plea.
