An 18-year-old Cooloola Cove hospitality worker has been sentenced in Gympie court after police found cannabis plants during a search.

Jack Thomas Henry Boczek pleaded guilty in Gympie Magistrates Court on Monday to one count of possessing cannabis, one count of producing cannabis, one count of possessing drug utensils and one count of property used in relation to drug offences.

Police attended a residence in Rainbow Beach on a search warrant on August 4, 2022 the court heard.

Boczek was asked if there was anything he wanted to declare prior to the search, police prosecutor Melissa Campbell told the court.

In addition to the cannabis, he was found with a water pipe, brass cone piece, electric grinder and seven cannabis plants, the court heard.

Boczek was supported by his mother and girlfriend in the public gallery during his court appearance. He was placed on a good behavior bond of a total $450 for four months, under the condition he attend a drug diversion program.

No convictions were recorded.
