Text messages allegedly found on the phone of a Queensland man facing 65 drug dealing charges have revealed the extraordinary amount of money he was pulling in every day.

A 32-year-old man facing 90 charges including 65 charges of supplying drugs, supplying drugs to children, evading police, driving under the influence of a drug, and weapons and explosive charges has been denied bail by a Gympie court.

Daniel John Grimstone-Remy appeared in custody on Tuesday, June 20, as police opposed his application for bail.

The court heard how the police found “photographs on (Mr Grimstone-Remy’s) phone in front of another rolled over vehicle with his thumbs up” the day before the other incident near Jones Hill primary school.

“The police were called and the defendant was found at the vehicle at the time and claimed to police that another driver who he didn't know was driving and had run off,” prosecutor Melissa Campbell said.

Daniel John Grimstone-Remy, 32, of Gympie, will be back before Gympie Magistrates Court on July 10, 2023 after his bail was revoked on June 20, 2023.

She tendered “the photographs produced from the phone including messages and photographs of the substantial amount of cash in relation to the drug dealing and photographs of the firearms”.

Acting magistrate Raelene Ellis described the evidence as “significant drug dealing” with “the evidence obtained from his phone seemingly indicating an excess of $11,000 a day and text messages supporting what appears to be attempts by him to access weaponry”.

Sergeant Campbell also showed two dashcam videos captured in the Jones Hill school zone when Mr Grimstone-Remy allegedly almost rolled a car.

Police allege the incident happened a little after 3pm on June 6, 2023, when a police car noticed a white Ford Focus driving 42km/h over the speed limit along Mary Valley Rd and put their sirens and lights on.

Police allege the car then turned into McIntosh Creek Rd, an active school zone beside Jones Hill primary school.

“You can see it hits the other car and then rights itself,” Sgt Campbell said.

“You can see in the second footage a child is standing there with their hands over their mouth right next to the school where it happened.”

Sgt Campbell told the court bail was first granted on June 7, 2023, and Mr Grimstone-Remy’s mother had come forward to speak for him, saying “he hadn’t done anything wrong and he had just fallen off the wagon”.

She said however with the evidence on his phone, “the case is now significantly strengthened”.

Mr Grimstone-Remy had breached his bail and was arrested by police on June 16, 2023.

Solicitor Chris Anderson said the breach of bail was an “administrative aspect” and in regards to his mental health “it is seen that people in these positions are not able to have the greatest organisational skills”.

Mr Grimstone-Remy’s mother sat in the court again on Tuesday with three other supporters.

Ms Ellis denied Mr Grimstone-Remy bail.

He will front court next July 10, 2023.

He is now facing more than 90 charges, including drug supply, supplying a drug to a child, driving without due care, and unlawful possession of firearms or weapons.
