Police have confirmed they are investigating two separate robberies alleged to have occurred in the Gympie region overnight.

A Queensland Police Service spokesman said both matters were under investigation, and no further information was available at the time of publication.

Unverified reports suggested a shovel was allegedly used in the robbery at Woolooga, while a car may have also been stolen from that location.

Pictures taken of the Woolooga Hotel on Wednesday (July 28) show parts of the front window panel smashed.

Management at both the Kilkivan General Store and the Woolooga Hotel declined to comment.
