One person has been taken to hospital following a fire at a house in Chatsworth overnight.

Emergency services were called to the single story house on stilts in Allen Rd just before midnight, with reports that a veranda at the property had caught fire.

When a Queensland Fire and Emergency Service crew arrived on the scene just after midnight, they found that the blaze had spread from the veranda, and the building was well involved in flames.

A further three fire crews were dispatched to the property and two officers in breathing apparatus entered the house to help extinguish the flames internally while other crews worked externally.

Paramedics transported one patient who was suffering smoke inhalation to the Gympie Hospital.

They were reported as being in a stable condition.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services had the blaze under control just after 1am and left the property about 2.30am.

Queensland Police also attended the scene for a short time just before 1am and a spokesman said the fire was being treated as non-suspicious.

Energex also attended the scene to isolate the property from the mains power.

All persons at the property were accounted for.
