"This section of Kin Kin Road is very windy and narrow with one lane in each direction and many roadside hazards," Mr Bailey said.
"The project will focus on both high-risk and known crash locations to deliver a safer road for the community.
"The identified works include upgrading road signage, improving guide posts and pavement reflectors, re-establishing or improving line markings, installing new safety barriers and removing hazardous roadside vegetation at various locations along Kin Kin Road."

"This project is funded under the Palaszczuk Government's Targeted Road Safety Program which aims to improve road safety.
"The focus of the program is on implementing high-benefit, cost-effective solutions to prevent crashes and incidents on Queensland roads."
Mr Bailey said TMR would soon begin community engagement on the project with work scheduled to follow in mid-2017.
