A man has been rushed to hospital after being kicked in the head by a horse in the Gympie region.

A man aged in his 60s has been rushed to hospital with serious head and facial injuries after he was kicked by a horse on Tuesday morning.
The incident happened about 7am at a private property at Goomeri.
The man was transported to Kingaroy Hospital in a serious condition and was likely to be flown to a bigger hospital, a spokeswoman from the Queensland Ambulance Service said.
