LIFESAVING Queensland has confirmed there has been a death at Double Island Point this morning, after a patient was pulled from the water but was unable to be revived.

A South East Queensland Lifeguard supervisor said Rainbow Beach lifeguards attended the scene at 9am, arriving just after Queensland Ambulance officers.

The patient was pronounced dead and is thought to have had a heart attack.

The Rainbow Beach Lifeguards passed Mudlo Rocks successfully to get to the scene, however further up the track was inaccessible, so they reached the point by jet ski.
