Land, air search finds missing man Owen Lucas

A man aged in his 30s who went missing near Wolvi on November 1, was found safe and well by police following an extensive search.

A land and air search for a 30-year-old man who went missing from Wolvi in the Gympie region on November 1, located the man safe and well on the afternoon of November 3, 2021.

Police had asked nearby landholders to keep a sharp eye out for any signs of the man after he went missing on the night of November 1.

Owen Lucas arrived at a Wolvi property about 9.30pm on November 1.

He left about midnight carrying a black suitcase.

Police said that suitcase was later found unattended near a school with his possessions still inside.

Mr Lucas’s family and police held serious concerns for his safety as he suffered from a medical condition which requires medication.
