Cooly Fruit Gympie’s long run servicing the shoppers at Gympie Central Shopping Centre is expected to come to an end next month.
The popular fruit and vegetable shop made the announcement on social media earlier this month, with owner Gordon Brown posting on Facebook he had been unable to come to an agreement on a new lease at the centre.
The post said the store was expected to close its doors permanently by Friday, May 14.
Cooly’s second store at Goldfields Plaza will remain open.
Mr Brown was contacted by The Gympie Times on Friday but declined to make any further comment on the closure.
In the social media post, he thanked customers for their support and asked anyone with job vacancies to get in touch with him as “we have some great staff members who will be looking for work”.
