A planned 108-bed aged care centre next door to Gympie Hospital is expected to be a “landmark” project for the city.

But exactly who will be delivering it?

The centre is the brainchild of Brisbane-based development group Pesdev, an organisation which is unrolling several other facilities across the state’s southeast corner.

At least five other projects across Queensland are owned by Pesdev, the company’s website reveals.

These include centres on Leitch’s Rd and Greensill Resort Retirement at Albany, another on Beerwah Parade at Beerwah and a fourth at Stanworth Rd, Boondall.

The Essence subdivision at Eatons Hill has been opened up by Pesdev, too.

The four-storey Gympie centre was approved by the Gympie Regional Council in February.

The Greensill Rd resort at Albany Creek is a 400-bed complex built across two blocks. for residents aged 55 or older.

Each unit has two or three bedrooms, and the centre will be able to cater to 600 residents.

The larger of the developments at the road involves building six four-storey buildings; four three-storey buildings will be erected on the smaller block.

Residents will be able to use a library, a function room, a cafe, a gym, baths and yoga/pilates room and a pool.

The Beerwah nursing home will include a 93-bed high-care facility and 25 independent living units.

A retirement centre at Greensill Rd, Albany Creek is one of four others besides the Gympie project being developed by Pesdev.

The Gympie aged care centre will have 108 beds as well as a salon, day spa, outdoor areas and a lounge, dining and activity room on each level.

It was approved by Gympie Regional Council in February.

Details about the company and its inception are scarce.

Pesdev did not respond to requests for an interview.

ASIC records show the Aspley-based company was founded in 2011.

There are five other subsidiary groups, numbered two through six.

The block of land earmarked for the Gympie centre is owned by Pesdev No. 3.
