An 18-year-old Imbil man was refused bail in Gympie Magistrates Court on Monday, for allegations relating to graphic verbal abuse towards a police officer assisting him after a serious car crash.
Blake Jaden Tolley entered the court by police escort, where he sat expressionless in the dock for the duration of his appearance.
Tolley entered no plea, and only when his bail was refused showed expression, leaning back against the wall and placing his hands on his head.
He faced 11 charges, including threats, common assault, obstruct police and serious assault of a police officer by spitting.
Police prosecutor Melissa Campbell alleged Tolley had hurled graphic abuse at a police officer trying to assist him after a serious car crash.
Sergeant Campbell said Tolley had also threatened to sexually assault the officer’s daughter for being arrested.
Magistrate Graham Hillan repeated the alleged threats to the court, calling them quite serious in nature.
“Officer, my family knows where you live, and we’re going to f--- with your kids,” he said.
“I’m going to put it so far up her a------ that she’s going to scream daddy, daddy, daddy why that happen to me, and you’ll say it’s because I arrested people.”
Tolley’s defence lawyer Leanne McIntosh said her client was intoxicated at the time of the alleged incident, and had gotten behind the wheel of a car, which he later rolled, causing him a head injury.
She said police and ambulance were at the scene to help Tolley after the accident.
Mr Hillan refused Tolley bail and said he would endanger the safety and welfare of another person if released.
He was remanded in custody to reappear in Gympie Magistrates Court for mention on July 26.
