You would be hard pressed to find a financial planner anywhere who cares more about getting the best possible result for their client than Ben Ellingsen.
And maybe that is why the Kingdom Financial accountant has been voted the best in the business around the Gympie region, according to Gympie Times readers.
In a four-horse race stocked with deserving nominees, Mr Ellingsen came out on top with 40 per cent of the popular vote – followed by Jem Accountancy, Sue Weckert and Shaun Ward.
Mr Ellingsen said he was feeling “pure gratitude” to be nominated and then go on to win.
“The initial response is surprise, you don’t set out to win these things you just do your very best in the job,” he said.
“It’s always good to be recognised for the effort you’ve put in, because we do try very hard to get the best possible results for our clients.”
The industry veteran, with about 22 years of experience and 11 of them with Kingdom in Gympie, said it was the diversity of his clients that he enjoyed the most about serving the region.
“You never know when you come to work each day, who you’re going to be helping. It could be a farmer, someone in retail, someone in the service industry, and I love the diversity of that and the unknown,” he said.
“It can be very challenging, but it’s very rewarding as well.
“(To all the supporters) My utmost and humblest appreciation. You don’t wake up each day trying to win competitions, you want to help your clients as best you can.”
