Gympie development application for Mazda, Madill’s Suzuki and Gympie MG on Bruce Hwy

One of Gympie’s biggest car dealerships, which now includes the newest car brand to the region, is about to find a new and bigger home. Take the first look at the plans:

New plans have been revealed for a massive car dealership under construction overlooking the Bruce Hwy on the southern outskirts of Gympie.

A development application for new signage at the proposed site at 2 Laurenceson Rd, Glanmire, revealed the dealership will house Gympie Mazda, Madill’s Suzuki and Gympie MG.

The lot is directly across from Bunnings on the Bruce Hwy, which has its own new development onsite which is expected to house a new four wheel drive franchise.

Currently, the three car dealerships run out of a lot on the corner of Excelsior Rd and Bruce Hwy at Gympie, near Gympie Central Shopping Centre.

The Gympie Times has reached out to Madill Motor Group general manager Simon Guthrie for comment on what the plans are for the Excelsior Rd lot.

Mr Guthrie said in February 2022 Gympie MG was apart of the Madill Motor Group, and had a “soft launch” in January 2022.

Since then, business had been booming.

The development application, which was for new signage for the Glanmire site, shows the dealership will operate out of a large building facing the highway. A second building is located behind it, and a car park, split between two levels, will be built with a connecting ramp.

Construction is estimated to be completed by July, 2022.
