Some shoppers are threatening to never return to Gympie’s Goldfields Plaza after drastic new parking rules were brought in last week.
Residents can now only park at the centre for three hours, or risk a hefty fine.
Shoppers will also risk a $77 fine if they get busted returning to the car park once their three hours is up.
Some locals took to social media to vent their outrage, lashing out at “money-hungry management”.
One resident said: “Bye bye Coles/Goldfields! This is the last straw.”
A second said: “This is outrageous, you have just lost my custom.”
A parking monitor has already been spotted in the car park.
More to come.
