A 54-year-old Dagun man has been dragged back before the courts for breaching a domestic violence order for the sixth time when he went to his ex-partner’s house and called her a “f---- sl---”.

The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was charged after he arrived at his ex-partners house while intoxicated, after he decided to go for a walk.

Police prosecutor Melissa Campbell told the court the victim was sitting on her back deck and on the phone to a friend when she heard the man’s voice coming from the side of the house.

“The defendant was walking down the side of the house yelling ‘bubba let me in, let me in,’” she said.

She said this sent the victim into a panic and she ran inside before calling police.

“ … At this time defendant is standing at the back gate yelling ‘are you going to call the f------ cops you f------ sl--?” Sgt Campbell said.

Police located the man walking up the street back towards his own house, which Sgt Campbell said was about 1km away.

Sgt Campbell said he denied being at the victim’s house, saying he was simply going for a walk.

The man’s defence lawyer Anna Smith said her client was intoxicated at the time of the breach and had no clear memory of the events that unfolded that night.

She also said the victim lived close to where her client happened to be walking that night.

Magistrate Graham Hillan said this was the man’s sixth breach of a domestic violence order in his history, and sternly reminded him of the seriousness of the charges.

“Imprisonment is not uncommon for repeat offenders,” he said.

The man pleaded guilty to breaching a domestic violence order, and was fined $1200 as a result.

His conviction was also recorded.
