Cows cross highway just before crash

UPDATE:

PASSING cows were crossing the road before a tourist bus, campervan and at least one vehicle were involved in a crash on the Bruce Hwy two kilometres south of the Puma Service Station last night.

Civilians helped at the scene, while passengers from the bus and vehicles waited for attendance by authorities, who arrived at about 6.15pm. 

One person was taken to the Gympie Hospital with leg injuries. 

The highway was closed, but fortunately for passing motorists, was reopened after 10 mins. 

EARLIER:

A Greyhound bus, campervan and at least one car are involved in a crash on the Bruce Hwy, just south of Kybong's Puma Service Station.

The crash is believed to have happened about 6.25 pm on Monday evening in the north-bound lane between the dual-lane highway and the service station. 

Many civilians were seen helping at the scene while they waited for authorities to arrive. 

One person in the van has injuries that are not life-threatening. 

Traffic was slowed, but the highway remained open.
