CANDIDATE Jessica Milne describes herself as "an energetic and enthusiastic mother of one who has lived in and around the Gympie area almost my entire life".
Ms Milne made headlines in 2010 when she staged a tree protest at the Tin Can Bay rubbish tip after losing her caretaker contract with Gympie Regional Council.
"I am actively involved with my Cooloola Coast community as an active member of the Tin Can Bay Lioness's, the Cooloola Coast Youth Activity Project, the Cooloola Coast Community Local Disaster Management Sub-Group, getting my hands dirty on the Cooloola Cove Revive Our Creeks Project, and am involved with the formation of a local Girl Guides Group.
"I have worked in various labouring jobs over the years, currently self employed harvesting greenery.
"I am driven to represent my community after my experience contracted to council providing recycling services at the Tin Can Bay Waste Management Facility.
"My passion is solution facilitation and I feel that my approachable nature, attention to detail and out of the box thinking would be an asset to council and makes me an excellent candidate."
