2022 Winter Trees on Mary winners announced

The Gympie Chamber of Commerce has announced the winners of Winter Trees and Wheels on Mary Street after torrential rain shut the event down.
Schools and community groups decorated the trees that line Mary Street ahead of the street celebration, adn those trees were judged on Thursday, July 28.
After much deliberation from the judges, the winners were:
• Gympie Parkinson‘s Support Group
• One Mile State School
• Matty Hillcoat‘s Truckies Day Out
• Gympie West State School
• Gympie South State School
Winners were presented with prizes at the Mary Valley Rattler Station on Wednesday, August 3 by Mary Valley Rattler general manager Linda Barry.
“We offer a huge thank you to the Mary Valley Rattler for their donation of the prizes for this event,” Chamber president Petra Van Beek said in a statement.
Ms Van Beek thanked judges Tony Goodman, Michelle Perrett and Tony Perrett for their time and commitment to the event.
“We could see that a lot of time and effort went into decorating the trees in the very wet conditions. Well done to all of the participants,” Mrs Perrett said.
Mary Street will be lit up once again for the Mary Christmas event on December 14, 2022.
“This year there will be one big festival instead of the usual two, and we look forward to a fantastic, fun filled, magical Mary Street Christmas festival,” Ms Van Beek said.
