Caravan explodes into flames at Rainbow Beach

Emergency crews rushed to a coastal Queensland tourist town after a caravan exploded into gouts of flame.

Extraordinary images have captured the moments a caravan exploded into flames on a quiet street at Rainbow Beach, an hour northeast of Gympie.

Multiple crews were called to the scene of the fire near the intersection of Green Valley Dr and Turana St, about 9.30am.

A QFES spokeswoman said the blaze, which also set a nearby tree alight, was extinguished within a matter of minutes.

A QAS spokeswoman said there had been no reported injuries at the scene.
