Police investigating after ‘suspicious’ fire guts building near Gympie Saleyards

Police investigations are underway into a fire which destroyed a building near the Gympie Saleyards, which they believe may have been a case of arson.
Emergency crews rushed the scene of the blaze on Saleyard Rd at Araluen about 6.15am Sunday.
The building, understood to be an amenities block, was well alight by the time emergency crews arrived, and fireys battled to extinguish it for almost an hour.
No was one in the building at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported from the incident.
On Monday Police said officers were investigating the fire which was “being treated as suspicious”.
They urged anyone with information or witnesses to contact police.
