A young boy has been airlifted to a Brisbane hospital after a serious Gympie region crash on Friday afternoon.
The boy was reportedly travelling in a four-wheel drive along an unspecified rural road when the driver lost control of the vehicle and it rolled down a gully, landing on its roof.
The Land Rover LifeFlight Special Mission rescue chopper was dispatched to the scene shortly before 4pm Friday (July 9), while paramedics and fire crews worked for about an hour to free the boy, who had been trapped under the vehicle.

A LifeFlight spokesman said the boy was airlifted to the Queensland Children's Hospital in critical but stable condition.
