A new Monopoly game based on Gympie region has been released
After announcing the Gympie edition of Monopoly in June 2023, droves of local residents made suggestions on what should appear on the board, and now the custom themed squares and cards can be revealed.

The time has come for the town that saved Queensland to pass go on its own custom Monopoly board.
On Wednesday, March 6, Gympie residents will be able to behold all that they love about their hometown while playing the world’s most popular game.
After announcing the Gympie edition in June 2023, droves of locals across the region made suggestions on what should appear on the board, and after thoughtful consideration, the custom themed squares and cards have been announced.
Alongside the custom squares, the Gympie edition will also feature special gold tokens that players can incorporate into the game, paying tribute to the town’s rich gold mining roots.

The themed squares on the Gympie Monopoly board are:
Brown – Goomeri, Kilkivan
Light Blue – K’Gari, Rainbow Beach, Tin Can Bay
Pink – Cooloola Coast Kart Club, Cooloola BMX Club, Gympie Aquatic Recreation Centre
Orange – Gympie Music Muster, Gympie Sovereign Cinema, Gympie Tenpin Bowling & Entertainment
Red – Performax American Pickups and Muscle Cars, Gympie Central, Mary Street
Yellow – Woolooga Longyard, Helltown Hotrods Bar & Café, Gympie RSL
