5 Works underway in the Gympie region now
The Gympie Regional Council has confirmed that the following works are beginning this month, while some are continuing from April.

The Gympie Regional Council has confirmed that the following works are beginning this month, while some are continuing from April.
MAY 2016
1. Kandanga pathway
Pathway at Kandanga-Amamoor Rd, Kandanga - Pathway
The project will include the construction of a 1.5 metre wide pathway for pedestrians on Kandanga-Amamoor Rd, in the area between Main St and the Kandanga Pool. The work will include:
• concrete pathway and kerb ramps
Traffic management measures will be in place to ensure the safety of pedestrians and motorists.
2. Ramsey Rd/ Woolgar Rd intersection
Road Upgrading at Ramsey Road, Southside
The project will widen a section of Ramsey Road near the Woolgar Road intersection. The work will include:
• additional stormwater drainage installation
• road pavement widening
• kerb and channel installation
• alteration to existing pathways and kerb ramps
• asphalt bitumen resurfacing over the whole area.
Traffic management during construction property accesses may be affected for short durations. The work crew will endeavour to minimise disruptions.

3. Clarkson Dr
Kerb and Channell Replacement at Clarkson Dr, Rainbow Beach
The project will replace the existing kerb and channel to improve roadway drainage between Rainbow Beach Rd and Indigo Avenue.
The work will include:
• upgrading of stormwater pits
• re-profiling of the existing roadway
• improvements to existing property accesses.
4. Grevillea Ave, Southside
The project will widen Grevillea Ave and a section of Johns Rd. The work will include:
• additional stormwater drainage installation
• road pavement widening
• kerb and channel installation
• alteration to existing property accesses
• resurfacing over the whole area.

5. East Deep Creek Rd, East Deep Creek
The project will widen a 1.95km section of East Deep Creek Rd, between Williams Rd and Lynch Rd, to a 9.4 metre wide, two lane sealed standard. The work will include:
• vegetation clearing and earthworks
• road pavement widening
• intersection improvements
• reinstatement of existing property accesses and
• bitumen sealing. Council endeavours to minimise disturbance of established vegetation on its projects where possible.
