The 2024 Gympie Music Muster was launched at the Australian Institute of Country Music on Monday morning, starting the countdown to the region’s biggest music festival of the year.
The Muster will be held at the Amamoor Creek State Forest from August 22-25, with pre-Muster entertainment starting on the weekend of August 17.
The Song Muster conference will continue for the next four days, bringing together established and aspiring songwriters, young and more mature artists to write together and share their lives and experiences.
Song Muster co-ordinator Gavin Carfoot said the event was an important way of building community, health and wellbeing.
“The Song Muster is a collaboration between the AICM, Queensland University of Technology and the Gympie Music Muster, as well as Bendigo Bank who are amazing supporters of many community events in Gympie,” he said.

“Being able to open the Song Muster here today and launch the countdown to the Gympie Music Muster, together, is a great opportunity for us all to celebrate music together and support emerging artists,” Mr Cavanagh said.
“It is important to recognise the role songwriters play in the music we celebrate at the Gympie Music Muster.”
Monday’s media conference marked the official countdown to the 43rd Gympie Music Muster and the start of the fourth Song Muster, cementing their strong relationship at the AICM.
