A Gladstone region special education school will welcome more students in years to come thanks to a $9,500,000 Queensland Government grant.
Construction has recently commenced at Rosella Park School in Gladstone on a new two-storey learning centre.
The proposed works include the demolition of existing buildings and the construction of a two-storey general learning area classrooms.
This project will result in an increase to the school’s capacity by 42 students, to a total of 147.
Member for Gladstone Glenn Butcher said the additional classrooms and learning areas were the perfect addition for the Rosella Park School.
“It is important that facilities and classrooms are adequate to meet the needs of our students and it is fantastic to see the construction underway,” he said.
“After visiting the principal of the Rosella Park School, Geoff Miller, it is exciting to see the school kicking off with an excellent start to 2022.”
This $9,500,000 project is funded by the Palaszczuk Government and is expected to be finalised mid-2022.
