An enraged grandmother left her victim a series of sickening voicemails alleging he was a rapist who was targeting children, a court heard.

The woman, 45, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded guilty to two contraventions of a domestic violence order in the Gladstone Magistrates Court on Monday.

On August 15, the grandmother left a series of voicemails on the victim’s phone such as “f---ing p---ter kiddy f--- er’, ‘Answer your phone kiddy f---er ‘Answer your phone bum a-- rapist’.

The woman continued the verbal assault of her victim with another serious of foul voicemails regarding rape, before asking ‘have you paid my daughter $100 this week you dirty a-- rapist c---?’.

On August 15, around 1.30pm, the defendant, victim and two children attended Central Lane Hotel.

Shortly after being seated the defendant stood up in an aggressive manner towards the victim.

Upon leaving, the defendant took the victim’s hat before kicking it into the air and stomping on it.

As the victim walked past the defendant he put his arms up in a protective manner, but the defendant still found a way to punch him twice in the back with a closed fist.

Police attended the hotel and copied the CCTV footage then attended the victim’s house for a signed notebook statement and a recording of the voicemail messages.

Acting Magistrate Leanne Scoines said she could not comprehend how the defendant could send voicemails of that nature to the victim then proceed to go for a meal with him.

“Obviously she was already in a heightened emotional state,” Ms Scoines said.

“It’s anyone’s guess as to why she thought having a meal with the man she had sent those voicemails to the same day was a good idea.”

The defendant sobbed from her cell at Gladstone police station when she told Ms Scoines she was forced to attend Central Lane Hotel, however, the Magistrate did not believe her.

The defendant was convicted and sentenced to six months imprisonment, which will be wholly suspended after she serves 20 days imprisonment. Her parole release date was set at September 17, 2021.
