Steven Ernie Laurance blew 0.093 when he was caught drink-driving

Steven Ernie Laurance, 46, paid for his mistake when he faced court.

A Gladstone drink-driver who told police he had consumed three beers before blowing over the legal limit, faced Gladstone Magistrates Court on Friday.

Steven Ernie Laurance, 46, pleaded guilty to his offending.

Police prosecutor Kelvin Boyd outlined the facts of Laurance’s offending, which happened on December 4 about 5.40pm.

Gladstone police intercepted Laurance riding a motorbike and he submitted to a breath test, which returned a positive result of 0.093.

When questioned, Laurance stated he drank three 750ml beers between 12.30pm and 5.23pm and did not believe he would be over the limit while driving to his daughter’s house.

Magistrate Bevan Manthey fined Laurance $600 and disqualified him from driving for three months.

A conviction was recorded.
