Police received information that Eldridge was seen inside a toilet with other girls snorting cocaine.

Eldridge and her friends were seen by police leaving the toilet block and they were detained for a search.

Located during a search of Eldridge’s handbag was a clip seal bag which contained white powder and she was given her rights and cautions.

Also found was a plastic scoop that Eldridge said she used to line up the cocaine and a piece of cardboard that was rolled into a straw which she stated she used to sniff it up.

Finally, police found another clip seal bag on Eldridge which contained a blue and white capsule, which the defendant said contained MDMA.

Duty lawyer Rio Ramos said Eldridge was an electrical apprentice and a single mother of one child.

“From the outset she has expressed remorse for her actions as this (taking drugs) was not something she did regularly,” Ms Ramos said.

She was issued a notice to appear in Gladstone Magistrates Court.

Eldridge was convicted and fined $800. No conviction was recorded.
