A man has faced court for his involvement in a loud disturbance and fight at a Gladstone unit complex.

Scott Robert Pickup, 47, pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on March 6 to public nuisance.

Police prosecutor Jennifer Leach said on February 11 about 6.20pm, police attended a unit complex at Ann Street, South Gladstone, in relation to a man (Pickup) yelling abuse and engaging in a physical fight.

Ms Leach said police spoke to numerous people at the unit complex and they all said that Pickup had been yelling for “at least 30 minutes” saying things like “F--k you, f---ing scum” to other residents of the complex.

The prosecutor said two men at the complex confronted Pickup and asked him to calm down and go inside.

Ms Leach said Pickup then picked up a brick and threw it in their direction.

“(Pickup) and two males were involved in a small fight,” Ms Leach said.

The court heard Pickup was extremely intoxicated on the day of the incident.

It was told that Pickup had a six-page criminal history and he was on probation for similar offending.

Acting Magistrate Mary Buchanan fined Pickup $800 and a conviction was recorded.
