A who zipped his lips regarding his recent smoking of a dangerous drug appeared in Gladstone Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

Samuel Stephen Riley-Lindsay, 30, pleaded guilty before Magistrate Bevan Manthey and police prosecutor Merrilyn Hoskins to drug driving.

On June 7, around 5.43pm, Calliope police intercepted a Nissan ute on the Bruce Highway, Mount Larcom.

Riley-Lindsay submitted to a roadside drug test which returned a positive indication for a relevant drug.

He was detained for further testing and when questioned, made no admissions to recent drug use.

Following a second positive drug test, Riley-Lindsay was issued a notice to appear in the Gladstone Magistrates Court.

His saliva was sent for forensic testing which confirmed the presence of cannabis in his saliva.

Mr Manthey convicted and fined Riley-Lindsay $400 and suspended him from driving for one month. A conviction was not recorded.
