When police responded to Rhiannon Elizabeth Critchley and Tyson Lucas Stenner’s home for a disturbance, they found more than they bargained for.
Stenner, 20, and Critchley, 19, pleaded guilty to possessing drug utensils and stealing, and possessing dangerous drugs and utensils respectively in the Gladstone Magistrates Court on Monday.
On August 20, around 8am, police arrived at the ex-couple’s house in response to a disturbance.
When they entered the house, police were overwhelmed by the smell of marijuana and saw a set of digital scales and clip seal bags on the dining room table.
A search was conducted which uncovered 1.4 grams of marijuana, three bongs, one electric grinder, one set of digital scales, three small bowls with marijuana residue attached and one white plate.
Critchley had informed police there were drug related items in the house, however, originally denied there being any cannabis left.
“I would have smoked it if there was any left,” Critchley told police.
When shown the cannabis which police uncovered during their search, Critchley refused to comment.
Also found in the couple’s home was a banner from Hungry Jacks, which Stenner claimed he found on a night out.
“I didn’t return it because it was a good story and Hungry Jack’s could afford another,” Stenner told police.
Critchley was convicted and ordered to attend drug diversion. She was also placed on a six month good behaviour bond with a $300 recognisance. She escaped convictions.
