A Gladstone teen who was found sleeping inside a car he allegedly broke into is due to face court.

An 18-year-old Glen Eden man is due to appear in the Gladstone Magistrates Court next month after he allegedly slept inside a vehicle he broke into on Tank Street, Gladstone Central.

Police allege that about 4am on June 4, the man walked into a carpark behind a Tank St business before looking into a vehicle and then leaving.

Shortly after, the man returned with a concrete block and allegedly used it to gain entry to the car.

The man then fell asleep inside the vehicle before two pedestrians woke him up prompting him to exit the car.

The Gladstone teen was charged with one count of enter premises with intent to commit an indictable offence and is expected to appear in the Gladstone Magistrates Court on July 12.
