Peter James Butler, 42, pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on Tuesday to possessing utensils or pipes etc. that had been used.

On July 18, around 11.15pm, police intercepted a black Holden ute on Glenlyon Road.

Police detained the occupants of the ute, including Butler, for a drug search.

During the pat-down search of Butler, police located a glass pipe, with burnt residue, between his pants and underwear.

Butler said he owned the drug utensil and he had used it for smoking ice and hidden it down his pants when police intercepted the ute.

He was issued with a notice to appear in the Gladstone Magistrates Court.

Magistrate Bevan Manthey convicted and fined Butler $200. A conviction was recorded.
