Just seven days after his driver’s licence was demerit point suspended, Joshua Dean Fuller clocked 144kmh on a 100kmh stretch of the Bruce Highway.

The 23-year-old faced Gladstone Magistrates Court on January 16 where he pleaded guilty to speeding and unlicensed driving in the Hervey Bay region on November 22 last year.

The court heard that Fuller told police he was not aware that his licence had been demerit point suspended.

The court did not hear specifics about Fuller’s traffic history.

Solicitor Jun Pepito said Fuller was a baker and father of two.

Magistrate Mary Buchanan fined Fuller $2000 and disqualified him from driving for six months.
