David Paul Nash pleaded guilty to a drug offence in the Gladstone Magistrates Court

The man was on his way from Gladstone to Bundaberg when police intercepted him at a roadhouse.

A Gladstone man’s road trip was cut short after Miriam Vale police busted him with drug paraphernalia.

David Paul Nash, 43, pleaded guilty to possessing utensils or pipes etc. that had been used in Gladstone Magistrates Court on Friday.

On July 8, around 8.05pm, Miriam Vale police saw Nash in a green Toyota hatchback parked at Star Roadhouse, Miriam Vale.

When questioned, Nash said he had used cannabis two weeks prior and was travelling from Gladstone to Bundaberg.

A court heard that police asked Nash if he would consent to a search to which he hesitated, allowing police to form reasonable suspicion he was in possession of dangerous drugs.

Police detained Nash for a search and located seven, small clip seal bags in the glove box of his car.

All bags had a crystal-like residue in them and Nash informed police they had been used to store methamphetamine two weeks prior.

The items were seized and police issued Nash a notice to appear in the Gladstone Magistrates Court.

Magistrate Bevan Manthey convicted and fined Nash $100. A conviction was recorded.
