A police search warrant in Calliope uncovered a haul of drugs and paraphernalia including cannabis.

Geoffrey Michael Lafsky, 23, pleaded guilty to seven charges including possessing dangerous drugs and possessing utensils or pipes etc. that had been used.

On July 23, around 9.30am, police executed a search warrant at Lafsky’s Drynan Drive residence in Calliope.

Police located a plastic tub in the garage which contained 2.2 grams of cannabis that Lafsky said was his.

Near the cannabis, police located a water pipe made from a plastic bottle, plastic house and cone piece.

The water bottle contained discoloured water in it which smelled of cannabis.

When questioned, Lafsky said the water pipe was his and he had constructed it to smoke cannabis.

Police also found a phone on Lafsky which contained messages related to supplying dangerous drugs.

During one conversation, Lafsky spoke with an associate in Rockhampton about buying cannabis where the cost of the drugs was arranged.

Police believed Lafsky travelled to Rockhampton and purchased the drugs.

Magistrate Bevan Manthey convicted and sentenced Lafsky to nine months imprisonment, wholly suspended for two years, and disqualified from driving for one month. Convictions were recorded.
