A man’s disgusting antics at a Gladstone hotel have landed him in court.
Caine Patrick Michael Conlan, 23, pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court to public nuisance in the vicinity of a licensed premises.
The court heard that about 1.50pm on February 6, Conlan was outside The Club Hotel Gladstone.
Police prosecutor Corey O’Connor said Conlan took bites out of an apple and spat a combination of chewed apple and saliva onto a vehicle parked in the hotel carpark.
“(Conlan) left about half of the remaining apple on the windscreen of the car,” Mr O’Connor said.
The prosecutor said Conlan’s actions were seen by an employee at the hotel who came out to see the apple on her car.
Conlan had no criminal history.
Solicitor Jun Pepito said what Conlan did was an “act of stupidity” and he submitted a fine would be appropriate.
Magistrate Edwina Rowan told Conlan “your lawyer quite rightly refers to that as an act of stupidity and indeed it is.”
Ms Rowan fined Conlan $967 and no conviction was recorded.
