A dangerous driver who narrowly avoided a crash with oncoming traffic while evading police on the Bruce Highway was later found to be adversely affected and in possession of drug utensils, police allege.

A 36-year-old Buccan man was charged over numerous alleged traffic offences in the Raglan and Mount Larcom area on Tuesday.

Police allege that about 2.35pm, the man was driving a white Holden Commodore southbound on the Bruce Hwy at Raglan when officers in an unmarked car observed the driver overtaking multiple vehicles across double white lines.

The driver was then allegedly detected by police driving 93 km/h in a 70 zone near Mount Larcom.

When police attempted to intercept the vehicle, the driver allegedly overtook a truck and nearly collided with an oncoming vehicle.

The 36-year-old man later attended Miriam Vale Police Station where he was arrested and police allegedly located several drug utensils in his vehicle.

The man was transported to the Gladstone Hospital and required to provide a blood sample however allegedly refused before being taken to the Gladstone watch house.

He was charged with two counts of dangerous operation of a vehicle while adversely affected, one count of drive UIL, one count of evasion, one count of fail to provide specimen of blood, one count of disobey speed limit and one count of possess utensils for use.

He was granted bail and is set to appear in the Gladstone Magistrates Court on October 18.
