A man who allegedly kicked in the front door of a unit and stole property was already on bail for similar offending, a Gladstone court has heard.
Joshua Adam Vohland, 38, appeared in custody in the Magistrates Court on November 13 where he applied for bail.
Mr Vohland is facing six charges including trespass, enter dwelling and commit, possessing tainted property and possessing dangerous drugs.
The prosecution objected to bail, with police prosecutor Sergeant Merrilyn Hoskins saying Mr Vohland was currently on parole for like offending which included break and entering.
Sergeant Hoskins said it was alleged Mr Vohland entered a dwelling and stole “a number of items”.
Magistrate Mary Buchanan said the allegations were that Mr Vohland kicked in the front door of a unit and the court heard that he had a nine-page criminal history.
Solicitor Cam Schroder said if granted bail, Mr Vohland proposed to reside at a men’s hostel.
“He knows the offences are his own fault - he has always struggled with addiction and drugs,” Mr Schroder said.
Ms Buchanan said Mr Vohland was an unacceptable risk of committing further offences if released on bail and she refused his application.
Mr Vohland was remanded in custody and his matters were adjourned to November 27.
