Man in life-threatening condition after plane crashes west of Gladstone
Emergency crews are racing to save a critically injured man who suffered severe burns in a light plane crash at a private Central Queensland airstrip.
A light plane pilot is fighting for life after he crashed attempting to land on a private airstrip west of Gladstone on Sunday morning.
Emergency services were called to a private address on Langmorn Rd, Raglan, at 10am after reports of a light plane crashing as it attempted to land, a Queensland Police spokeswoman said.
Paramedics are assessing one man in his 60s who is in a life-threatening condition with significant burns, a Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said, adding a rescue helicopter was on scene.
Two fire crews are on scene and the crash resulted in a small fire to surrounding vegetation, a Queensland Fire Department spokeswoman said.
